RECENT PROGRESS IN THE STUDY OF FRACTALS DEFINED BY A RANDOM PROCESS

In the survey paper The Measure Theory of Random Fractals (Math. Proc. Camb. Phil. Soc. 100, 1986, 383-406), James Taylor describes the main techniques needed to use Hausdorff measure and packing measure to desribe the fractal nature of sets determined by stochastic processes. In reviewing the results known in 1986 several problems were posed. In the present lecture some of these problems are resolved and new problems are suggested.
